Gratitude And Appreciation

Gratitude And Appreciation

I started to write this article on gratitude and appreciation. I got about 3 paragraphs into it and then realized.. ..what am I doing?? I’m so often guilty of not being appreciative enough. Complaining about some little inconsequential thing in life. You know, things like the internet is slow today. The ATM wasn’t functioning properly. Traffic was at a crawl. The list goes on and on. Ridiculous things.

Instead of grumping about those little things I need to concentrate more on the amazing amount of good things in my life. So here we go.

Starting With You, Our Readers

I appreciate you. I’m very grateful for each of you. Grateful that you take the time out of your day to share our travels and adventures. Writing this blog is fun for me but what makes it even better is having you, our readers, in our lives. It truly is opening up new avenues for me. Getting input from you gives me a new perspective. I appreciate that.

Family tops everything!

Family. Words Are Inadequate! Love Our Family!

Family. No words can begin to express the appreciation I have for our family. Starting with The Husband. He truly is my polar opposite. (You know that expression opposites attract? Yup, it apparently is true!) He is one of the good guys on so many levels. Our adult kids and grandkids who never cease to amaze and delight me. No one can make me laugh as hard or as often as they can. They complete me. Although my job as a parent was to teach them, I think it’s they who have taught me the most valuable lessons.

Health And Travel

From our basically good health to the ability to indulge in our travel whims I am appreciative. Meeting new people, exploring new places.  Something I recognize not everyone gets the opportunity to do. While we never know how long we’ll be healthy and able to live this lifestyle, I’m appreciative of each new experience we have.

Friends – Old And New

Friends. The old friends with whom we share so many memories and years of history. That bond will never be broken. If we don’t see each other for a few months or years it doesn’t change anything. We just pick right up when we get together as if there had been no time in between. Creating even more memories to add to that bank. New friends we meet and form connections. Making new memories and always amazed at the areas of common ground.

What Are Your Gratitudes

Join me please. Share with me what you appreciate in your life. I plan to write down at least 5 things I’m grateful for each day. I will post them at the end of each new blog post for the remainder of February and the month of March.  Would you like to share your gratitudes in the comments section at the bottom of each post? I’d love to share your delight. My top one each day will be the same.  It’s always going to be The Husband and our kids/grandkids. The other 4 will vary. Big or small, I don’t care. Write them for yourself or share with us in the comments.

Recap of Today’s Gratitudes

  1. Family – The Husband and our kids/grandkids.
  2. You, our readers!!
  3. Health – each healthy day is a gift.
  4. Travel – this feeds the gypsy in my soul.
  5. Friends – old and new.

Excellent list! I’m grateful for my family, including our three cuddly cats. Also, I work a ‘9-to-5’ gig and am grateful for my colleagues–they are like family and have an infectious sense of humor.

Thank you for the reminder. I’m new to your blog. Researching the RV lifestyle. Gratitude is easy these days:
Grateful for safety for my boys who are first responders.
Grateful for forced retirement as I get to spend more time with hubby.
Grateful that hubby is still in remission.
Grateful for our church and friends.
Grateful that God is providing for all our needs.
What’s not to be grateful for…….from my years in hospice work, so many do not have choices anymore.

    Blessings on your travels

Welcome to our blog family. We’re so glad you decided to join us. You have a wonderful list of gratitudes and I admire you for your work in hospice. Such a blessing that hospice exists but yes, very sad that so many do not have choice anymore.
